Today the entirety of 10th graders were lectured about future careers and the diploma + subject choice (because soon I'll have to choose one). My classmates are already sure what career they will work on; I heard that two of my classmates are going for dentistry, one guy was working on becoming a doctor, and I'm sure people in the class have figured out what path they will take - except me.
At first I went for graphic designer, and I joined a small art class every Sunday, but the place and the atmosphere is very unwelcoming, the teachers don't seem to cater to students, the stuff I learnt was confusing, I have no chance to connect and interact with other students, plus the university stuff they told me was very complicated. And so in the end I begged mom (with tears) to stop taking me there.
Maybe I took their criticism personally. Or I hated people there :P
OK. Here comes the bonus. I was snooping around a forum (that focused on the preservation of old games, mainly social/metaverse-ish conversation games from the 90s and the 2000s) that was fairly inactive for now, and it so happened that I joined this forum 3 years ago, to be exact. I found a new forum thread saying that the game should be revived because it had potential for meeting new friends who wanted to explore the weird beauty of old social games. I got too excited about the thought of new people joining to chat so first thing I did was go online on that game, and then I met 3 players on there. All three were moderators of the forum, one being the new owner of that project... I said hi to those guys, and they did greet me... until one guy said something like "cut the shit *username* what are you doing here, *game name* is dead" and for the next 2-3 minutes they bullied me - they must've read my bio for the server I was in. The dudes were making fun of me for my interest (I dunno if they did - it sounded like it), one guy found out how I type and proceeded to say something like "XP", one guy made a joke about going-to-Bangkok which followed with kid-named-kok thing. I couldn't bear it so I simply said 'Ok bye lol'. It was the most childish thing I have ever typed :(
I'm convinced that after the game became defunct again they still use that place to talk whatever stuff is going on and they are not fond of kids who join the game because of the cultist joke that went around people who reclaimed the game; I believe that is the reason because of a older forum post from a person (from the typing lingo, I assume it's a minor) complaining that the same dude in-game was bullying him; and bingo - the moderator (the guy who became the new owner of the forum and project) said that if you are annoyed by him, leave. He and the people on the forum are not his(the kid) personal army. I understand that it is not appropriate to round up people and get revenge, but after I encountered them, they sounded... sketchy. I have no idea if they are just joking around but from the tone of the message and the previous drama surrounding that game and forum, it must be something very crude from them.
Oh right. Enough rambling. I got very angry and embarrassed (my threat system's working overdrive) about the situation so I had to put off fire: by making them characters fo my worldbuilding.
Meet Megai and D'arcee. Megai was born out of smoke, and D'arcee is born out of glass. Both two are best buds and they run a website focusing on guides to media preservation, and they also preserve the game; but they are known to be crude sometimes (among kids who discovered the game and decided to try it out for themselves) - Hoku caught wind of it and decided to help the kids who faced a whole round of bullying by them. After further investigation, he sent Megai and D'arcee to the dimensional detention center, which is located overground in a building however nobody knows which. He didn't plan to lawlessly imprison them forever, instead both two got the role of guinea pigs in an experiment to prove that a small amount of general education (in psychology), community service and therapy can make them better... and by now they already regret what they did. I mean, they are learning to be nice.
Another character I haven't mentioned - Wen. He is another deity of Tenshi City, and he is the measure of time. He is clockwork. He spends time going around overground and underground, and is the best friend of Hoku and Nun. Old as time can be but still alive and running. I based him off an old character from one of the artworks in an archived zip file full of glamfur art, and his name sounds very close to the word "when" (asking for time. when?); his name in Thai can be translated to "shift" as in "Whose shift is it for board cleaning?" and that word is closely associated to time.
Ah... I'll draw them more soon. Nikki out |

Yayayyayayayay!! More characters!!! :D
And wow.. forum culture is brutal..
Those guys who revived the game are closeted jerks anyways >:(
Ooooo interesting new characters!!! :D Yeah, people on forums can be assholes sometimes... -____-
about the personal army thing, isn't that literally what a moderator is supposed to do? or at least break up fights? seriously, forum people sure are stupid assholes.
also, love the new charries! :3 especially Megai and Wen, their character designs really stand out to me for some reason.
Megai is the hardest to design, since he was based off those Japanese fox spirits (happens to be his avatar)... D'arcee looks like that because he was based off one avatar a guy was wearing (translucent limegreen fox, also his avatar) but there is another person whom I haven't mentioned because his avatar is a default fly insect.
Wen is of course based off an ancient glamfur art with an orange-ish character with motifs of clocks.
I actually feel bad for the kid. He wanted to play and the guys will do everything to get him out. | |
